Ukrainian ambassador summoned to Hungarian Foreign Ministry due to Kyiv's position on Budapest-Gazprom deal
KYIV. Sept 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian Ambassador was summoned to the Hungarian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday because of Kyiv’s position on the Budapest-Gazprom deal, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said.
The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry said on his Facebook page, Hungary regards Kyiv’s position as a violation of sovereignty and national security interests, since this is about "safe gas supply, heating Hungarian homes and the work of industry."
Szijjártó also announced "Kyiv’s unfriendly step" after Hungary’s aid (medical equipment, support for the servicemen, children’s recreation, investments).
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytry Kuleba said Hungary dealt a blow to bilateral relations with Ukraine by excluding the Ukrainian gas pipeline from the gas supply scheme from Russia, and Kyiv will respond to this accordingly.
