Ukrainian Agro Connection, Ministry of Agrarian Policy to collaborate in issue of farms cooperation

KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Agro Connection cooperative and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine have agreed on collaboration in the field of cooperation between farms, small- and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, and also discussed a number of key issues in the agricultural sector.

Head of the Ukrainian Agro Connection Bohdan Kupriyanov told Interfax-Ukraine about the meeting held the day before with First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotsky.

"The result of communication really made us happy, because we agreed on further cooperation and support from the government in the framework of cooperation between farms, small- and medium-sized agricultural enterprises," he told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to Kupriyanov, the parties also discussed the issues of demining lands, fields and land reclamation systems liberated from Russian occupation, restoring destroyed agricultural enterprises, as well as the possibility of international financing and support for farmers to maintain global food security.

The head of the agricultural cooperative said that the joint activities of farmers will allow its members to sell products on new international markets at world market prices. The issue of storing the harvested crop, organizing own processing of agricultural products, gaining access to the best equipment and additional sources of financing could be jointly solved.

"We see the future of the Ukrainian farmer in uniting and focusing on the aspect of processing, which will ensure a stable flow of additional profit, as well as organizing the purchase of joint wholesale lots of fuel, fertilizers, plant protection products, seeds. Our approach is based on technologies and ideas that will serve the needs of farmers and save them money, time and resources that they can use for other projects," Kupriyanov said.

Kupriyanov also said that on March 10, 2023, Ukrainian Agro Connection will hold a meeting of Ukrainian farmers with government representatives, agribusiness experts and the 360 Degrees Around Cooperation cooperators to identify the main problems of the industry and find ways to solve them together.

The head of the cooperative also recalled that the agricultural cooperative was created at the end of 2021 by the owner of the agricultural holding A.G.R. Group by Misak Khidiryan, and now it includes farmers with a total land bank of 17,000 hectares.

A.G.R. Group includes more than 20 companies. The main direction of its activity is the trade in agricultural products, the cultivation and storage of grain crops, as well as animal husbandry.

A.G.R. Group cultivates land in Poltava, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Sumy regions. All grown products are sold on foreign markets.

The president of the holding and the chairman of its supervisory board is Khidiryan.
