Ukraine's UGS operator, State Customs Service to introduce e-document flow for customs warehouse mode
KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The operator of underground storage facilities (UGS) of Ukraine and the State Customs Service have agreed to automate the processes of processing customs declarations when transferring natural gas to/from the customs warehouse mode, the press service of Ukrtransgaz has reported.
According to the press service, the ultimate goal of the project will be to establish a complete electronic document flow between the parties.
After the first stage of automation, the UGS Operator of Ukraine will be able to verify the customs declarations of the service customers when taking natural gas from the customs warehouse. The exchange of information will take place online using special cryptographic information security tools.
At the second stage, the automation of document flow between the operator and customs will take place. This will allow the provision of periodic reporting and shipping documents for the implementation of customs clearance in electronic form.
"The agreement with the State Customs Service is the beginning of a large-scale project, which in the long term will fundamentally change the entire process of gas declaration and the work of our customers in the customs warehouse mode. Today, we launched a transformation that will have a positive impact on the entire gas market of Ukraine," Ukrtransgaz Head Serhiy Pereloma said.
Ukrtransgaz, fully owned by NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of 12 underground storage facilities with a total design capacity of 31 billion cubic meters.
