Ukraine's nonbank financial market down by 18 participants in April 2022 – NBU

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of April 30, the Ukrainian nonbank financial market decreased by 18 participants over the month, to 1,664, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Wednesday.

At the same time, the regulator clarifies that no new participants have appeared.

According to the NBU, the number of banks on the specified date has not changed and is 69 financial institutions.

The number of insurance companies – 132 non-life and 13 life, insurance brokers – 64, pawnshops – 197, financial companies – 894, collection companies – 67 also remained the same. At the same time, there were fewer credit unions – 187 versus 205 a month earlier.

In addition, 24 banking groups and 23 nonbank financial groups are recognized on the market (recognition of the nonbank financial group Avers was terminated in April).

In the payment market, according to the regulator, there are 37 national payment systems (in March – 38), including state, and 16 international payment systems. In April, the registration of the intrabank payment system Unite Express, created by the residents, was cancelled.

In April, the National Bank received 23 requests from market participants for registration and licensing actions. There were eight requests for financial companies, pawnshops and lessors and the same number for insurers, while for credit institutions (banks and credit unions) the regulator received one less request.
