Ukraine's Media Group considers its mission to remain platform uniting ex-opponents to defend independent, democratic Ukraine – statement
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Media Group of Ukraine calls freedom of speech one of the main achievements of Ukrainian society and considers it its mission to remain a platform that will unite even former opponents to defend a united, independent, democratic Ukraine, the media holding said in a statement.
"Freedom of speech is one of the main achievements of Ukrainian society, guaranteed to us by the Constitution. But we, Ukrainians, know that our rights must be protected. The institution of freedom of speech needs our solidarity and protection right now, including from deliberate attempts to accuse journalists of political partisanship and even high treason," the media holding said.
Thus, Media Group of Ukraine said "today we must end strife and disputes and unite to defend Ukraine." The position of the media holding notes the Ukraine and Ukraine 24 television channels have always worked for a strong, independent Ukraine.
"They are the information platform where representatives of different political forces can be heard and understood. In an hour of historical trials and quite possible external aggression on the part of Russia, we consider it our mission to remain just such a platform that will unite even former opponents for the sake of defending a conciliar, independent, democratic Ukraine. We unite for the sake of protecting our statehood," the media holding said in the statement.
