Ukraine's Health Ministry allows combine mRNA vaccines against COVID-19
KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Health of Ukraine allows combining mRNA vaccines if the vaccine that was given for the first vaccination is not available.
"In July, the Health Ministry approved the recommendations of the National Technical Expert Group on Immunization to allow combining mRNA vaccines. If the mRNA vaccine from the same manufacturer is not available, a vaccine on the mRNA platform of another manufacturer can be used for the second vaccination," the ministry said on Facebook.
According to the statement, the first dose of Moderna vaccine can be combined with the second dose of Comirnaty/Pfizer-BioNTech and vice versa.
The interval between the first and second doses is 28 days.
