Ukraine's GDP growth slows down to 2.4% in Q3 2021 – statistics
KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s real gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2021 increased by 2.4% compared to the third quarter of 2020 after growing by 5.7% in the second quarter of this year, the State Statistics Service published such preliminary estimates.
According to its data, compared to the previous quarter (taking into account the seasonal factor), the GDP increased by 1.4%.
As reported, in 2020 the Ukrainian economy fell by 4%, in the first quarter of this year by 2.2%. The State Statistics Service preliminarily estimated growth in the second quarter of this year at 5.4%, but then improved the estimate to 5.7%.
The Ukrainian government expects the economy to recover by 4.1% by the end of this year, while the National Bank of Ukraine in October downgraded its forecast from 3.8% to 3.1%.
