Ukraine’s Embassy investigating situation with Ukrainians on Russian-Estonian border – MFA spokesperson

KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia is cooperating with the Estonian competent authorities to clarify the situation with Ukrainian citizens on the Russian-Estonian border, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko said.

"The Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia is cooperating with the Estonian competent authorities to clarify the situation with Ukrainian citizens on the Russian-Estonian border. The issue of Ukrainians leaving Russia is under special control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other involved state bodies of Ukraine," Nikolenko wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

Earlier, Estonian Interior Minister Lauri Läänemets said that the Russian authorities had taken Ukrainian military refugees gathered at the south-eastern border with Estonia to an unknown destination. "Earlier, a little more than a thousand people were waiting at the border, but today they are no longer there – they were put on trucks and taken away," Läänemets said in the program Uudis+ on the Vikerraadio radio station, ERR.EE reported on Wednesday.
