Ukraine's Economy Ministry signs MoU with Croatia's State Office for Metrology
KYIV. Dec 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the State Office for Metrology of the Republic of Croatia was signed during the second meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of the two countries.
"The memorandum was signed by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Iryna Novikova," the press service of the Ministry of Economy said on Wednesday.
According to her, the conclusion of the memorandum will create environment for the further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of metrology during the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement in the area of technical barriers to trade and preparation for the conclusion of the ACAA agreement, which today is a priority task of the President and the Prime Minister of Ukraine in relations with the EU.
As indicated in the report of the ministry, the exchange of information and best practices of Croatia under the memorandum will also contribute to the further development of the metrology system of Ukraine in accordance with European norms and rules, which is extremely important within the framework of the EU pre-assessment expert mission to pre-access Ukraine’s quality infrastructure for the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA).
"Joint participation in projects of various metrological programs and inter-laboratory comparisons will contribute to the introduction of European experience into the metrological system of Ukraine. The consumer will receive innovative, high-quality and safe products, and will also create the preconditions for the release of competitive Ukrainian products and increase the volume of export of goods to the markets of both states," Novikova said.
