Ukraine's agricultural land market over two weeks remains at level of H1 of Jan – Ministry of Agrarian Policy
KYIV. Feb 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Over the past two weeks, from January 15 to January 31, some 1,130 transactions with agricultural land plots were concluded in Ukraine, which is 6% less than in the previous period on January 1-15, while the area of sold land plots decreased by comparable 8% – to 2,200 hectares.
According to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the average price of 1 ha of sold agricultural land increased by 1.6% by January 31, 2023 compared to January 15, to UAH 41,280/ha from UAH 40,630/ha.
In general, for the period from July 1, 2021 to January 31, 2023, during which the agricultural land market operates in the country, 145,270 transactions were carried out for land plots with a total area of 326,780 hectares.
According to the ministry, in the second half of January, an average of 60 transactions with agricultural land with a total area of 130 hectares were concluded daily, while on January 1-15, the figures were respectively 80 transactions with an area of 160 hectares per day, December 15-31 – 385 transactions with an area of 790 hectares per day, December 5-19 – 203 transactions for 390 hectares per day, and on November 21-December 5 – 214 transactions for 420 hectares per day.
This indicator is significantly lower than before the Russian invasion: according to the latest pre-war data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, for the period February 11-18, 2022, an average of 621 land transactions with a total area of 1,650 hectares were concluded in Ukraine daily.
In terms of the total area of sold agricultural land plots, Kharkiv region is in the lead with an indicator of 39,590 hectares. It is followed by Poltava region – 26,920 hectares, Dnipropetrovsk region – 26,520 hectares, Kirovohrad region – 26,510 hectares and Vinnytsia region – 21,110 hectares.
It is specified that in the first half of January, most agricultural land was sold in Dnipropetrovsk region (369 hectares), as well as in Poltava (234 hectares), Vinnytsia (187 hectares), Kirovohrad (176 hectares) and Khmelnytsky (162 hectares) regions.
