Ukraine to impose sanctions against 3,000 representatives of Russian defense industry – Ministry of Economy

KYIV. Nov 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The government of Ukraine has prepared a package of sanctions against approximately 3,000 individuals from among the military leadership of the Russian Federation, enterprises and institutions of defense industry, as well as companies and individuals associated with the supply of the Russian defense industry.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine said on Tuesday that the relevant decision was made at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group (IWG) on the implementation of the state sanctions policy chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko.

"We have a package of more than 3,000 individuals and legal entities of defense industry of the terrorist state and suppliers of the Russian army, as well as the military leadership of the terrorist state," Svyrydenko was quoted in the press release as saying.

The ministry said that the sanctions will come into force after consideration and approval by the National Security and Defense Council and signing of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Svyrydenko added that another package of sanctions against the Russian defense industry is being prepared.
