Ukraine to be able to completely protect skies when aviation taboo in relations with partners is lifted – Zelenskyy
KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine will be able to completely protect its skies from enemy attacks when the aviation taboo in relations with foreign partners is lifted, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
“The day began with an attack by Iranian drones. Most of them were shot down. 11 out of 14. Unfortunately, there were also hits. Three employees of the State Emergency Service in Khmelnitsky were injured, two died. My condolences to the families,” Zelensky said in an evening video message.
“Actually, this is why we first of all need an aviation component of air defense – modern combat aircraft, so that the entire territory of our state can be protected from Russian terror. Air defense is fully functional when it is provided, in particular, by aviation. Modern aviation,” he said.
The head of state also noted that Ukrainian pilots, along with anti-aircraft gunners and all the soldiers and specialists of the Air Force, are already doing a great job.
“But we will be able to fully protect the sky when the aviation taboo in relations with our partners is eliminated,” the president said.
