Ukraine suspends gas injection into underground storage facilities

KYIV. Oct 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has suspended the injection of natural gas into its underground gas storage (UGS) facilities, according to the operational data of JSC Ukrtransgaz.

So, if on October 1, pumping into the "underground" amounted to 13.94 million cubic meters, then on October 2 it dropped to 0.61 million cubic meters, and on October 3 fell to zero.

The suspension of the injection was influenced by the stoppage of the transit of natural gas through Ukraine in the direction of Hungary by Russia’s Gazprom from October 1, 2021, since the import of gas from Hungary to Ukraine took place as a virtual reverse flow.
