Ukraine sufficiently provided with monkeypox tests, no need for quarantine, mass vaccination – Kuzin

KYIV. Sept 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has got enough monkeypox tests, there is no need for introducing a quarantine or holding mass vaccination, Chief Sanitary Doctors of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin has said.

"In July, Ukraine received 5,000 PCR tests for monkeypox from two manufacturers. The country is sufficiently provided with diagnostic tools. The epidemiological control recommendation were developed in May. The Health Ministry sees no conditions and preconditions for the epidemic of this disease," he told a Monday press briefing in Kyiv.

As reported, the first case of monkeypox was registered in Ukraine. The Health Ministry did not specify the exact location of the case. Epidemiological investigation is being conducted.
