Ukraine sends 44,000 tonnes of wheat to Kenya
KYIV. Dec 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The ports of Big Odesa shipped 129,000 tonnes of foodstuffs as part of the Grain Initiative on Tuesday, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has reported.
"Today, a caravan of four ships left the ports of Big Odesa, which will deliver 129,000 tonnes of foodstuffs to the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe. In particular, the Ince Atlantic bulk carrier with 44,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat for Kenya," the ministry said.
According to him, 27 vessels are being processed in the ports involved in the Grain Initiative. They are loaded with 1 million tonnes of Ukrainian foodstuffs.
Also, two vessels are moving along the grain corridor to load 6,000 tonnes of foodstuffs.
In total, since August 1, 569 vessels have left the ports of Big Odesa, exporting 14.3 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
