Ukraine reduces export of titanium ores by 36.5% for 11 months

KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in January-November of the current year reduced the export of titanium-bearing ores and concentrate in natural terms by 36.5% compared to the same period last year – up to 290,939 tonnes.

According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, in monetary terms, the export of titanium-bearing ores and concentrate decreased by 9.4%, to $119.360 million.

Ukraine in January-November 2022 imported 196 tonnes of similar products from Senegal (70.41%) and Turkey (29.59%) in the amount of $115,000 (imports were not carried out in October-November), while in January-November 2021 it imported 992 tonnes worth $979,000 from Senegal (83.76%) and Germany (16.24%).

Earlier, head of the Velta titanium company Andriy Brodsky repeatedly stated the need to develop the titanium industry in Ukraine, including to replace Russian supplies to the United States. At the same time, he emphasized that Velta is the official and only lobbyist for the interests of the Ukrainian titanium industry in the United States.

"We have a contract with a lobbying company for these services, we pay bills for this and are registered on the corresponding website of the U.S. Senate!" he said.
