Ukraine, Qatar sign protocol on amendments to agreement on avoidance of double taxation – Finance Ministry
KYIV. Sept 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine and Qatar have signed a protocol on amendments to the agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion regarding income taxes, the Ministry of Finance said on Thursday.
The changes suggest that any agreement reached by the competent authorities of Ukraine and Qatar within the framework of the mutual agreement procedure must be carried out regardless of any time restrictions provided for by the national legislation of these states, the Ministry of Finance said on its website.
In addition, the protocol provides for expanding the capabilities of the competent authorities of Ukraine and Qatar on the use of the information received, subject to obtaining permission from the competent authority that provided the information.
Also, the protocol contains a new version of Article 28 of the Agreement "Right to Benefit", which restricts the application of preferential terms of the provisions of the agreement, if they are the main purpose.
The subjects of the implementation of the protocol are the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Service, the report says.
