Ukraine proposes to set up international mission for demilitarization of ZNPP – Shmyhal
KYIV. Sept 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said that Ukraine proposes to set up an international mission for demilitarization of Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in Enerhodar, Zaporizhia region, and liberation of its neighborhood from the Russian troops.
"Unfortunately, the visit of the IAEA did not bring any tangible results. That is why we propose to set up an international mission with the participation of the EU, UN, and other organizations that would help to withdraw the Russian forces from the territory of the ZNPP and a 30-kilometers area around the power plant," he said during a Wednesday meeting of the government.
The PM stressed that such actions would contribute to safe operation of the power plant.
