Ukraine presents project for construction of LNG terminal – MP

KYIV. Sept 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The project for the construction of a floating Ukrainian LNG terminal and infrastructure for its connection to the Ukrainian GTS was included in the list of projects presented by Ukraine to the United States during the visit of President Volodymyr Zelensky, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (European solidarity parliamentary faction) said in his Telegram channel on Friday.

The construction of the LNG terminal, according to the list promulgated by the MP, refers to projects for the development of the oil and gas industry, along with projects to develop new gas fields and increase natural gas production.

The value of projects for the development of the oil and gas industry, the implementation of which is envisaged until 2030, is estimated at $28.7 billion. The share of the Ukrainian side in these projects is not indicated.

The U.S. participation, according to the short description of the projects, provides for the supply of equipment and technologies, as well as natural gas directly. The United States is interested in the return on investment.

A government source confirmed to Interfax-Ukraine that the list had been prepared on the eve of the visit. However, according to the source, "some changes could have been made to it directly in the United States."
