Ukraine, Poland 'turn page' with incident at Warsaw police office, continue cooperation – Monastyrsky
KYIV. Jan 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Interior Ministry of Ukraine has not completed an internal investigation into the incident with the explosion at the police office in Poland yet, a criminal investigation is also ongoing, however, Ukraine and Poland have "turned the page" with this incident and continue to cooperate, Interior Minister of Ukraine Denys Monastyrsky has said.
"The internal investigation of the Interior Ministry is still ongoing, there is a respective criminal proceeding," the minister told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday, when asked whether the investigation into the incident had been completed and whether all the circumstances had been established.
Monastyrsky recalled that he visited Poland and discussed the issue with his Polish counterpart.
"The main thing is that nothing can divide and quarrel us. This is the main conclusion of our trip, since Poland is one of our biggest friends, it helps with technology and hosted the largest number of our refugees… Therefore, we voiced the fact that any such issues cannot interfere with our cooperation," the minister said.
He added to conclude, "So, we have turned that page in our relationship and are moving on."
As reported, on December 15, the Polish Interior Ministry reported that a gift a Polish police officer received during a recent visit to Ukraine exploded at a police headquarters in Warsaw, injuring a commander and a civilian employee.
The Polish side asked the Ukrainian side for appropriate clarifications.
