Ukraine opens access to markets of six countries since early 2022 – State Food and Consumer Service
KYIV. Sept 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has identified 10 groups of Ukrainian goods for export to six countries since the beginning of 2022, according to a press release on Wednesday.
"We know that during the war it is especially difficult for Ukrainian business. That is why the diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the team of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, are working hard to open new foreign markets to create new opportunities for Ukrainian companies to sell goods and services abroad. In wartime, export becomes a real salvation for business," the service quoted Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
In the first eight months of 2022, Ukraine began exporting semi-finished meat products to Montenegro, milk and dairy products to the Dominican Republic and Kenya, pet food to Singapore, entomophages (insects that create a biotic protection barrier for crops) to Poland, chewing articles for pets, animal skins and skins, ornamental freshwater fish and live rabbits to Israel.
Currently, work continues to open export markets for poultry meat, eggs, table and egg products, fish and fish products, honey, beekeeping products and other products. For each of these decisions, there is a request from the business and a huge work of many specialists, which can sometimes take several years, the press service said.
"The opening of opportunities to enter foreign markets not only ensures the economic stability of Ukrainian enterprises and the preservation of jobs, but is also a guarantee of recognition of the work of our service to ensure the safety of Ukrainian products in a war," the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection quoted its deputy head Olha Shevchenko.
