Ukraine nationalizes Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery, Hlukhiv quartzite quarry and other assets of Russian oligarch Deripaska

KYIV. Feb 17(Interfax-Ukraine) – The High Anti-Corruption Court has satisfied a claim of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on the transfer of enterprises owned by Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to state ownership.

“The court decision concerns Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery LLC, as well as non-mining companies Hlukhiv Quartzite Quarry LLC (Sumy region), PrJSC Khust Quarry (Zakarpattia region) and PrJSC Zhezheliv Quarry (Vinnytsia region). Cost the property transferred to Ukraine is more than UAH 10 billion,” the message says.

The Ministry of Justice clarified that in all these cases we are talking about 100% shares or shares.

In addition, the ministry clarified, 100% nationalization of Aluminum Company LLC, Guardon Ukraine LLC (both located in Kyiv), Zaporizhallumintorg LLC (Zaporizhia), Service Center Metalurg LLC, CHAS IT LLC , Mykolayiv Accounting Center (all three – the village of Halytsynove, Mykolaiv region), as well as 99% of Protection of Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery LLC located in same Halytsynove.

The list of nationalized assets also includes 100% of the Mykolaiv Charitable Foundation Center of Social Programs and 29.5363% of JSC Zaporizhia Aluminum Production Plant, as well as more than three hundred objects of movable and immovable property.

The SBU notes that Deripaska, who is part of the inner circle of the military-political leadership of Russia, managed enterprises through controlled commercial structures in different regions of Ukraine. “Thus, the Russian oligarch tried to hide his links with Ukrainian assets,” the SBU said.

Measures to nationalize the enterprises of the aggressor country were carried out by employees of the SBU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure Objects and Combating the Financing of Terrorism under the procedural leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the security service concluded.

In turn, the Ministry of Justice indicated that Deripaska, one of the richest Russian oligarchs, a billionaire and close to the President of Russia, controls and owns significant shares of the RusAl, Basic Element, EN + Group companies.

The united company RusAl is the world’s second-largest aluminum producer and also controls Russian enterprises that produce armored vehicles, which the Russian armed forces later use in the war against Ukraine.
