Ukraine increases exports of ferroalloys by 7%, imports by 77% in Jan-Oct
KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in January-October this year increased its export of ferroalloys in quantity terms by 7.1% compared to the same period last year, to 573,585 tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, in monetary terms, export of ferroalloys increased by 49.6%, to $850.266 million.
At the same time, the product was mainly exported to Turkey (19.71% of supplies in monetary terms), Italy (14.43%) and China (11.29%).
In addition, in January-October 2021, Ukraine imported 50,964 tonnes of this product, which is 76.6% more than in January-October 2020. In monetary terms, imports increased by 78.4%, to $145.236 million.
The product was mainly imported from Brazil (16.33%), Norway (15.40%) and Kazakhstan (14.17%).
As reported, the Ukrainian Association of Producers of Ferroalloys and Other Electrometallurgical Products appealed to government agencies with a proposal to introduce special duties on import of ferroalloys from Russia due to non-competitive conditions and damage to domestic producers.
