Ukraine increases copper imports by over 50%, exports by 2.8 times in Jan-Oct

KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian enterprises in January-October this year increased import of copper and copper products in monetary terms by 53.7% compared to the same period last year, to $143.372 million.

According to statistics released by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, export of copper and copper products in January-October 2021 increased 2.8 times compared to January-October 2020, to $175.146 million.

In October, copper and copper products were imported for $18.3 million, exported – for $15.236 million.

In addition, Ukraine in January-October 2021 increased imports of nickel and nickel products by 49.6% compared to the same period in 2020, to $97.952 million (in October – $9.311 million), aluminum and aluminum products – by 23.3%, to $394.580 million ($48.341 million). At the same time, it increased imports of lead and lead products by 0.9%, to $7.320 million ($459,000), tin and tin products – by 83.4%, to $3.735 million ($704,000), and zinc and zinc products – by 71.2%, to $76.077 million ($7.998 million).

Exports of aluminum and aluminum products over ten months of 2021 increased by 56.7% compared to the same period in 2020, to $137.156 million (in October – $17.934 million), lead and lead products – by 59.2%, to $32.016 million ($3.435 million), nickel and nickel products – by 90.4%, to $3.954 million ($448,000).

Zinc exports in January-October 2021 amounted to $254,000 (in October – $123,000), while in January-October 2020 it amounted to $69,000 (an increase of 3.7 times). Exports of tin and tin products in January-October 2021 amounted to $154,000 (in October – $67,000) versus $100,000 in ten months of 2020.
