Ukraine increases coke exports by 7 times, imports by 68% in Jan-Aug
KYIV. Sept 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in January-August this year increased exports of coke and semi-coke in quantity terms by 6.92 times compared to the same period last year, to 166,603 tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, in monetary terms, exports of coke and semi-coke increased 16.3 times over this period, to $37.648 million.
At the same time, coke and semi-coke were mainly exported to Kazakhstan (32.26% of supplies in monetary terms), Turkey (18.35%) and Algeria (17.53%).
Over eight months, Ukraine imported 374,441 tonnes of coke and semi-coke, which is 68.1% more compared to January-August 2020. In monetary terms, imports increased 2.8 times, to $136.244 million.
Coke and semi-coke were mainly imported from the Russian Federation (62.30% of supplies in monetary terms), the Czech Republic (16.21%) and Poland (13.41%).
