Ukraine hands over list of weapons needed by Ukrainian army to Bulgarian defense department – ambassador
KYIV. Nov 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria Vitaliy Moskalenko said a list of 30 types of weapons needed by Kyiv to fight the Russian invaders had been handed over to the country’s defense department.
"From the very beginning, we requested various types of weapons from Bulgaria. In the list submitted to the Ministry of Defense, we indicated more than 30 items, including the air defense systems most needed now," Moskalenko said on the air of the BNT television channel.
He said the list, in particular, included S-300 systems, as well as various anti-aircraft missile systems.
"The issue of deliveries of 152 mm howitzers, self-propelled artillery mounts, shells, mortars also remains topical," the diplomat said.
According to him, in general, the list is "quite broad and varied" and on many points it can be satisfied, since it is likely that Bulgaria has everything that is indicated in this list.
"Earlier, we sent an application for helicopters and Su-25 and MiG-29 aircraft. All the weapons that Bulgaria has had since the Soviet era are absolutely necessary for us, for Ukraine," Moskalenko said.
As reported, on November 3, the Bulgarian parliament overwhelmingly voted in favor of sending heavy weapons to Ukraine.
