Ukraine exports almost 3 mln tonnes of grains since start of 2022/2023 MY – Agrarian Ministry

KYIV. Aug 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of the 2022/2023 marketing year (MY, July-June), Ukraine has exported 2.98 million tonnes of grains, including 1.94 million tonnes of corn (65% of total supplies), 783,000 tonnes of wheat (26%), and 257,000 tonnes of barley (8.8%).

According to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, since the beginning of the current marketing year, the rate of grain exports has been 2.06 times lower than in the same period last year.

At the same time, according to the agency, for the period of August 11-19, some 770,000 tonnes of grain crops were delivered to foreign markets (96,200 tonnes daily), while for the previous period of August 5-11 – some 340,000 tonnes of grain crops (48,600 tonnes daily), for July 27-August 5 – some 640,000 tonnes of grain crops (71,100 tonnes daily), and for July 15-27 – some 627,000 tonnes of grain crops (52,250 tonnes daily). Thus, the average daily export rates for the reporting period doubled compared to the previous period and reached the maximum value since the beginning of the MY.

In general, from the beginning of 2022/2023 MY and until August 19, 2022, Ukraine exported 783,000 tonnes of wheat (3.7 times less compared to the same date in 2021/2022 MY), 257,000 tonnes of barley (8 times less) and 7,400 tonnes of flour (2.55 times less). However, the pace of corn exports exceeded last year’s volumes – 1.94 million tonnes were exported, which is 67.8% more than in 2021/2022 MY.
