Ukraine exports 7.2 mln tonnes of food within 'grain initiative'
KYIV. Oct 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Nine vessels with more than 150,000 tonnes of agricultural products for African, Asian and European countries left the Ukrainian ports of Odesa, Pivdenny and Chornomorsk on Wednesday, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports.
"Among the ships leaving the Ukrainian ports are the bulk carrier KLC Erciyes, which will deliver 11,500 tonnes of soybeans to Egypt, the bulk carrier Simas with 13,400 tonnes of corn to Lebanon and the tanker Agnes Victory with 42,000 tonnes of oil for India," the department wrote on its Facebook page.
In total, 7.2 million tonnes of agricultural products have been exported since the launch of the first ship with Ukrainian food, and the number of food ships leaving Ukrainian ports for Asia, Europe and Africa has reached 325.
