Ukraine expects Poland to bring to strictest responsibility those responsible for death of Ukrainian Nykyforenko – Kuleba
KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine is awaiting an investigation and bringing to the strictest responsibility all those responsible for the death of Ukrainian citizen Dmytro Nykyforenko, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said following his visit to Poland.
"Separately, I raised the issue of the tragedy that took place in Poland, the murder of Ukrainian citizen Nykyforenko by the police. I made it very clear to my Polish colleagues that Ukraine is awaiting an investigation and bringing all those responsible to the strictest responsibility," Kuleba said live on Facebook on Tuesday.
He stressed that respect for Ukrainian citizens abroad, protection of their rights and interests are his absolute priority. According to Kuleba, "the fate of Ukrainians abroad is also a super priority" for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"Therefore, we will closely monitor this case, and we count on justice," the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry added.
Earlier, Gazeta Wyborcza reported on the death of a Ukrainian citizen, 25-year-old Dmytro Nykyforenko, in a sobering-up center in Wroclaw. According to the ezine, they applied gas to him, beat him with fists and truncheons, and later he was strangled by police officers and an employee of the center.
