Ukraine ends 2021 with record $68 bln indicator of export of goods – Economy Minister

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine ended 2021 with a record export rate of $68.24 billion compared to $49.2 billion in 2020, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko has said.

"We have a record result of Ukrainian exports of goods for 2021 – $68.24 billion! Previous indicators of such level Ukraine had in 2011 [$68.39 billion] and in 2012 [$68.81 billion]. However, then there was no sad remark in the statistics – except for the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Svyrydenko wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

At the same time, the trade turnover in 2021 amounted to $141.54 billion, which is 36.71% more than in 2020, she said.

As reported by the State Statistics Service, the deficit of foreign trade in goods and services of Ukraine amounted to $260 million in 2020, which is 14.4 times less than in 2019, and is associated with a decrease in the deficit in trade in goods by 2.2 times, to $4.88 billion.
