Ukraine, Denmark to sign memo on expanding partnership in wind generation
KYIV. March 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A memorandum on expanding partnership in the field of wind energy was agreed to be signed by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Haluschenko and Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities of the Kingdom of Denmark Lars Aagaard during an online meeting.
“The parties noted the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Ukrainian-Danish energy partnership, and also agreed to sign a memorandum on expanding partnership in the field of wind generation,” the Energy Ministry said on Friday.
Haluschenko thanked Denmark for helping the energy sector of Ukraine in the form of a humanitarian cargo with equipment with a total weight of over 5.7 tonnes and a contribution of EUR 538,000to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
“We need investments and affordable financing in clean energy projects: the production of wind and solar energy, hydrogen, electricity storage and biomass. Denmark has a huge expert potential in the field of distributed generation of renewable energy,” the Minister of Energy said.
According to him, Denmark’s assistance in assessing the capacity of wind generation in Ukraine, as well as support for the development of the legal framework for offshore wind generation, can be a significant contribution to the country’s recovery.
In turn, Aagaard said that Denmark would continue supportting Ukraine and its people in the fight against the Russian aggressor, as well as help with the restoration and decentralization of the energy sector.
