Ukraine Defense Contact Group to continue supporting AFU in coming tough weeks, months, years – Pentagon chief
KYIV. Oct 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukraine Defense Contact Group underlined a shared commitment to continue to provide Ukraine’s defenders with the capabilities they will need in the tough weeks, months and years, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III said.
The Contact Group discussed the ways to do more, to train Ukrainian military who have been impressively using the new capabilities, he said at a press conference on the results of the Contact Group meeting in Brussels on Wednesday.
Austin also stressed the importance of transparency and accountability as long-term support for Ukraine is growing.
The Contact Group discussed the accountability measures used by Ukraine in order to ensure that the advanced weapons provided to it can be fully tracked, he said.
