Ukraine cuts exports of steel semi-finished products by 7% in Jan-Aug
KYIV. Sept 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in January-August this year reduced exports of semi-finished products from carbon steel in quantity terms by 6.8% compared to the same period last year, to 4.756 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, during the specified period, exports of semi-finished products from carbon steel in monetary terms increased by 51.4%, to $2.767 billion.
The products were mainly exported to Italy (31.02% of supplies in monetary terms), Turkey (15.02%) and the Dominican Republic (8.75%).
In addition, Ukraine imported 15,381 tonnes of such products in January-August 2021, which is 56.6% more than in January-August 2020. In monetary terms, imports increased 2.3 times, to $9.764 million. The products were mainly imported from the Russian Federation (95.12% of supplies), Uzbekistan (2.86%) and Turkey (1.95%).
