Ukraine cuts export of steel semi-finished products by 67% in Jan-Aug
KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in January-August this year reduced the export of semi-finished products from carbon steel in quantity terms by 66.6% compared to the same period last year, to 1.589 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, in monetary terms, the export of semi-finished products from carbon steel over this period decreased by 63.5%, to $1.009 billion.
The main exports were to Bulgaria (21.91% of supplies in monetary terms), Italy (13.96%) and Turkey (12.22%).
In addition, Ukraine imported 5,532 tonnes of such products in January-August, which is 64% less than in January-August 2021. In monetary terms, imports decreased by 63.4%, to $ 3.576 million. Imports were carried out from the Russian Federation (98.49% of supplies), Romania (1.23%) and China (0.25%).
