Ukraine calls on UNESCO to urgently react to forced Ukrainian children to go to Russian-occupied schools
KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Amid resistance from local residents, Russia is threatening parents in the occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhia to send their children to boarding schools if they do not enroll them in Russian-occupied schools, Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleh Nikolenko said and called on UNESCO to urgently respond to this crime.
"Faced with resistance, Russia threatens parents in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions with sending children to orphanages if they do not sign them up to Russian-seized schools. Moscow is using education as a tool of oppression. We call on UNESCO to urgently react to this crime," Nikolenko said on Twitter in Friday.
