U.S. looking forward to Rada to move forward on NABU legislation, protecting its independence and final steps on SBU reforms – U.S. Under Secretary of State

KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States expects the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to make progress on legislation on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the protection of its independence, as well as the final steps on reforms in the State Security Service of Ukraine, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said.
"We are also looking forward to the Rada continuing to move forward on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the NABU legislation and protecting its independence and the final steps on the reform of the Security Services," Nuland said at the YES Brainstorming conference in Kyiv on Friday.
She said "all of these things about health, strength and cleanliness of Ukraine and the government that serves its citizens."
"So we will keep speaking about these things but some significant progress has been made and we just want to see Ukraine stay the course," Nuland said.
YES Brainstorming is organized by the Yalta European Strategy (YES) and Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
