U.S. Embassy hopes those responsible for shelling of Shefir's car to be held to account
KYIV. Sept 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine said it hopes for a speedy investigation into the shelling of the car of first assistant to the President of Ukraine Serhiy Shefir in order to hold those responsible to account.
"We join those condemning the attack that took place against Serhiy Shefir, first assistant to the President of Ukraine, near Kyiv today and look forward to a speedy investigation of the incident in order to hold those responsible to account," the embassy said in a statement on Twitter on Wednesday.
The diplomatic mission said out that criminal violence, including for political ends, is never justified.
"We wish the driver injured in the attack a quick and full recovery," the U.S. embassy said in a statement.
