U.S. condemns arrest of Crimean Tatars, demands their immediate release from Russia
KYIV. Sept 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States has condemned the arrest of the Crimean Tatars and demanded that the Russian Federation release them immediately, the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States reported.
"We condemn yesterday’s arrest of Nariman Jelal and other Crimean Tatar activists by Russia’s Federal Security Service. Russia must immediately release these activists and all Ukrainian political prisoners it holds and end its political persecutions in Ukraine. #CrimeaisUkraine," the Embassy said on Twitter.
