U.S. Ambassador visits Lviv region
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – United States Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink has made a visit to Lviv region for the first time since her appointment as head of the U.S. diplomatic mission in Ukraine, Head of Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytsky said.
"I have met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the U.S. to Ukraine Bridget Brink. This is the first visit of Mrs. Ambassador to Lviv region since her appointment as head of the American diplomatic mission in Ukraine. I briefed Mrs. Ambassador on the energy situation in Lviv region after Russia’s massive missile attacks on the territory of our country," he said on Facebook.
Kozytsky also spoke to the diplomat about the need to equip places with proper conditions for vulnerable people as long as social facilities in the region are overloaded.
"We need support in the sphere of medicine since Lviv region is the only region which receives evacuation trains every day and that is why the number of population in the region and the load on its medical institutions has grown many times. Since the occupier continues to hit energy facilities, we need generators, heat guns and other equipment that could help us to overcome this heating season with warmth and connection," the regional governor said.
The ambassador, in turn, said that partnership between Ukraine and the U.S. is very important, that is why the U.S. is ready to support Ukraine for as long as it needs.
