Two workers of Georgia's Poti port detained in Saakashvili case
TBILISI. Oct 4 (Interfax) – The Georgian Interior Ministry has detained another two citizens in connection with the investigation into the case involving the illegal crossing of the state border by former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.
"Z. Ts., born in 1960, and Sh. Ts., born in 1984, have been detained as part of the investigation into the illegal crossing of the state border by Mikheil Saakashvili," the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
According to Georgian media reports, the detainees are workers of the Poti port, a father and son with the last name Tsotsoria.
Elgudzha Tsomaya, who gave his apartment to Saakashvili, was earlier detained in connection with the case.
Saakashvili was detained in Tbilisi on October 1. He is now in prison in Rustavi.
Saakashvili has been implicated in several criminal cases in Georgia. The Georgian authorities repeatedly said he would be detained immediately after crossing the border.
