Two Ukrainian ministries agree to cooperate in development of media literacy, critical thinking

KYIV. Sept 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation in creating favorable conditions for increasing the level of media literacy and critical thinking of the population of Ukraine.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, the parties will cooperate in the following areas: participation in an educational campaign on media literacy; promoting the development and popularization of the national platform for media literacy; organization of public events aimed at discussing issues related to increasing the level of critical thinking and media literacy of the population of Ukraine; assistance in launching and holding the national competition "Reporter" for students of 9-11 grades; promoting the integration of elements of critical thinking and media literacy into educational programs and academic subjects of educational institutions; promoting the implementation of the Fact ≠ Fake project by disseminating relevant information in educational institutions; establishing interaction with international organizations.

It is noted that according to the memorandum, the parties will build partnerships on the principles of equal partnership, legality, mutual assistance, efficiency, rationality and mutual cooperation.
