Two ships to deliver wheat, corn from Ukraine to Italy
KYIV. Jan 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Two dry cargo ships with more than 45,000 tonnes of wheat and corn left Ukrainian ports on Friday, the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) said.
"On January 5, two ships left Ukrainian ports, they are transporting a total of 45,300 tonnes of grain and other food as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the center said.
Dry cargo ships Lady Divina (18,300 tonnes of wheat) and Med Island (27,000 tonnes of corn) went to Italy.
Six dry cargo ships are also sent to the ports, which passed through the humanitarian corridor on January 6.
"As of January 6, the total tonnage of grain and other agricultural products exported from three Ukrainian ports is 16.833 million tonnes. In total, 1,250 ships have been allowed to move at the moment: 622 for arrival in Ukrainian ports and 628 for leaving them," the center said.
