Two children illegally deported from Luhansk region to Russia returned to Ukraine – ministry
KYIV. Feb 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Two underage teenage girls were returned to Ukraine after being deported from Luhansk region to Russia, the Ministry of Reintegration said.
"With the assistance of the Ministry of Reintegration, two more children who were illegally taken to the territory of the aggressor state were returned to Ukraine. The girls, 13 and 15 years old, were taken into care and taken home by their older sister. The family is now in Volyn," the ministry said on the Telegram channel.
The Ministry of Reintegration said two younger sisters, along with their mother, were deported from Luhansk region to Ryazan. In Russia, the mother died and the children ended up in an orphanage.
"Their older sister turned to the Ministry of Reintegration, who managed to evacuate to Volyn region with her family. Together they went from registering custody of the girls to their return to their homeland," the ministry said.
It is noted the work to return the children lasted about a month and a half.
