Turnout in early elections of mayor of Kharkiv less than 30%
KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of 20:00 on Sunday, 288,336 people received ballots for the early elections of the mayor of Kharkiv, head of the city territorial election commission Olena Matvienko said.
"This is approximately 28-29% (of the total number of voters,)" Matvienko said at a briefing.
According to her, about 9,000 voters were included in the extracts from the protocols for voting at home.
Head of the city territorial election commission Olena Matvienko also said that during the day the commission had not received a single complaint about violations of the Electoral Code.
According to her forecasts, the protocols of the precinct election commissions on the election results will begin to arrive at the district territorial election commissions after midnight.
In 2020, the turnout in the next elections of the mayor was 31.3% (323,218 people).
As reported, on October 31, early elections of the mayor were held in Kharkiv. They were appointed in connection with the death of Hennadiy Kernes, who was elected mayor in the elections in the fall of 2020.
A total of ten candidates applied for the post of mayor.
