Turkey ready to organize negotiations between presidents of Ukraine and Russia – media
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may organize negotiations between the Heads of State of Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, Turkish Anadolu news agency has reported.
"The President of Turkey can make a constructive step and organize a dialogue between Mr. [President of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin and [President of Ukraine Volodymyr] Zelensky, which will help reduce tensions," Ibrahim Kalin, press secretary of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, told the agency.
He noted that Ankara is ready to create a platform for dialogue and, thanks to positive relations with Moscow and Kyiv, take steps to prevent escalation.
"Many Western countries do not have such constructive ties with Russia, and in this sense, Turkey stands out," Kalin explained.
