Turkey offers Istanbul as venue for TCG meetings – OSCE Ambassador Kinnunen

KYIV. Jan 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Turkey has offered Istanbul as a potential venue for face-to-face meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), provided that there is consensus, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and the TCG, Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen has said.

“In response to the request by the Chair of the OSCE, Turkey has preliminarily offered Istanbul as a potential venue for the TCG meetings, provided that there is consensus,” Kinnunen said in a press release following the first meeting of the TCG in 2022.

As the OSCE Ambassador said, he expressed gratitude to the Turkish side for such a proposal, and also informed the discussion participants about the possibility of returning to face-to-face meetings.

“I am convinced that face-to-face meetings will enhance the quality and confidentiality of our discussions,” he said.
