NEW YORK, UN. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Three bulkers carrying corn and wheat departed from Ukrainian ports on Tuesday, the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) said.
"The Joint Coordination Center (JCC) reports that three vessels left Ukrainian ports today [January 17] carrying a total of 119,000 metric tonnes of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the JCC said.
MV Kestrel S (26,500 tonnes of wheat) and MV Great Arsenal (25,500 tonnes of wheat) headed to Turkey, while MV Navios Helios will deliver 67,000 tonnes of corn to China.
Four bulkers transited the maritime humanitarian corridor on Tuesday on their way to Ukrainian ports.
According to the JCC, 77 applications have been filed for participation in the initiative. Nine ships are awaiting permission to enter Ukrainian ports, and 24 loaded bulkers are preparing to leave for their destinations.
"As of 17 January, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 17,757,311 metric tonnes. A total of 1,307 voyages (649 inbound and 658 outbound) have been enabled so far," the JCC said.
