There can be no 'peace plans' before withdrawal of Russian troops – Podoliak
KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – There can be no “peace plans” that include clauses on an “immediate ceasefire” until the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said.
“Immediate ceasefire’ is a ticking time bomb. Russia insists on it in order to ‘freeze the conflict,’ retain control over the occupied territory and build up military power. In nine years, we learned the bloody price of ‘ceasefire.’ No ‘peace plans’ before the withdrawal of Russian troops,” Podoliak said on Twitter.
Earlier, an adviser to the head of the President’s Office said any peace plans that only provide for a ceasefire and continued occupation of the territory of Ukraine would lead to the next stage of the Russian genocide against Ukrainians.
As reported, on the eve of the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, China published its version of the peace plan to end the war. In particular, it includes clauses on a ceasefire and the transition of the belligerents to negotiations, but without indicating the need for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
