Thanks to air defense Ukraine's energy facilities remained unscathed during Russia's attack by drones on Wed morning – Ukrenergo
KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Energy facilities of Ukraine were not affected by the attack of the Russian Federation by drones on Wednesday morning, NPC Ukrenergo has reported.
"Thanks to the brilliant work of the air defense forces, energy infrastructure facilities were not damaged – all 13 UAVs were shot down," the company said in its Telegram channel on Wednesday.
As for the general situation in the energy system, according to Ukrenergo, the commissioning of another nuclear reactor on Tuesday (the ninth out of nine available, given the occupation of 6 ZNPP reactors) helped not to use emergency blackouts yesterday to balance the energy system. Nevertheless, the company said that the situation in the energy system of Ukraine is still difficult due to large amounts of damage due to earlier attacks, all regional energy companies still have consumption limits.
"A significant shortage of electricity remains. The most difficult situation is in the east: due to almost daily shelling, energy facilities are constantly damaged. Repair work is slowing down due to the danger to the lives of repairmen," Ukrenergo said.
