Ten tankers with Kazakh oil queueing to pass through the Bosporus and Dardanelles – KMG head

ALMATY. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ten tankers with Kazakh oil have been stuck in a jam of 21 oil tankers near the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits, KazMunayGas CEO Magzum Mirzagaliyev said.

"Last night there were 21 tankers, of which six were loaded with TCO oil. In general, we estimate that eight to ten related to Kazakhstan are waiting to transit," Mirzagaliyev told reporters on Thursday.

He said the delays were currently more than six days. "For December, the usual time to pass through the Bosphorus is about 14 days," he said.

Oil shipments from Russia and Kazakhstan are ensnared by a Turkish government rule to provide proof that tankers are insured when navigating the Bosphorus and Dardanelles, Bloomberg reported earlier.
